Was it a heavy duty 3 prong (grounded) cable or a 2 pin thin one?

Never had a heavy duty cable fail, but the 2 prong cords can break if stressed and heated/cooled.

Your board (6lts???) only works with 66 FSB P2's. Later P2's were 100 FSB and P3 slot ones were 133 FSB.

Don't think you can test 100/133 speed SDRAM on that board since they will only work at 66mh ...
