Want to re-color that old photo? Try this program (results have been mixed for me).

Please post any good recolorings you get. (I will)

I'm working on a large photo right now. Looking real good so far. Will post it when I get it done (before and after).

It is a lot of work. Colors keep bleeding over. I'll try to finish up tonight with the photo I have (already have over 7 hours into it).

This is really hard, but those samples look awesome. I'm not an artist though, I guess that would help.

I think that picking the picture you want to recolor is really important! use one with lots of contrast, not much grayscale.

I'd rather have a proggy that does all the coloring if u tell it one color that u know is right like a mailbox car or the like that u are shure of and than it should be able to give the rest of the colors in the pic depending on the grey tone.

That would be a bit dificult as grey scale is part of the normal color scale. What color would the streets be if you said the grey grass was green? Perhaps a blue or blue/green?

Way back when newspapers teleprintered photos that was what they did, sent B/W and
circeled an area and wrote red or what ever it was and I think it is the same way when they turn old B/W movies into color if u know the correct color for one area when one should be able to get the rest correctly using the different shades of grey to determin the right color.
