If they're really serious about making a comeback, they really need to get William Shatner onboard for advertising.

LOL! I didn't know that he did commercials for Commdore until I saw it on Youtube, where he was pushing VIC-20 computers.

Apparently Commodore's only product at commodore is some handheld PC device at this time.

It would be nice if they would come up with something like one of those Espresso PC's that are a full blown PC system the size of an iPod.

And maybe in 2012 introduce a 30 year anniversary edition of the Commodore 64 in the brown crap box case but with a built in Flash RAM and an expansion slot for SD cards.

Include a USB port for attaching a modern printer.
Then throw in a few game paddles.
It would be a sweet little toy, and look good on a modern analog TV as the C64 originally supported S-Video.

Preload the thing with a bunch of games and some educational "leap frog" type stuff from MECC like Word Munchers and Number Munchers. They could sell it for $59.95 (in homage to the original 1982 price tag of $595USD) a pop at Wally World in the toy department. Razz

Thanks to VLSI, it would probably be more reliable than an original C64 as they could fit the VIC2, CIA, SID, 6510, and all the other chips all on single chip. It would probably be very cheap to reproduce.

</end C64 fanboy pipe dream>

Edited to add:

Their stock sales for $0.60 USD per share... If I had the money to through away I would buy a 1,000 shares and see what happens. Their OTC stock exchange code is CDRL.

You know, it makes me barf in my mouth a little bit to see the commodore name being reduced to making a bunch of lame peecee clones boxes for extreeeme gaymers. It's clear that whoever has "brought back C= from the dead" clearly has no intention of doing anything with the company other than cashing in on name recognition. Commodore is dead. People just need to learn when to let something be rather than destroying good memories.
