know that I go from projest to project trying to make things work.
One that stopped me was a microstar ms-6147 slot 1 mb with ati rage pro video.
I tried over 20 drivers even the one that microstar suggested.
possibly one of the drivers was good but installing driver after driver, could it scre up things.
another problem is when I set up a hard drive have w98 installed on another computer
THEN move the drive to the ms-6147, it works at 640x480 with that mb,
putting drivers in some times casused no effect or sometimes causes the frag,menmted icon legends.1

but when I install on that mb with the integrated video enabled, it gives me broken and incolplete fonts. when win 98 starts.
switching to a add-on card always fixes the problem.'

until I enable the on-board video again.
ME works the same way,. have not tried w2k or xp as yet.

I need a better plan of attack.
NOTE the website suggested ess sound driver works but says " midi cannot play midi disabled" but a sb driver works properly.

I could just put in a pci video card BUT i want to make it work.

Is it possible the intergrated video card has become corrupt?

mabey bad VRAM, some mb have video ram that can be change
