anyone used this service before? http://www.fastfreedialup.com
so far i havn't been able to get the 510 area code ones working
ive gotten arachne working with dsl using the network card but dial-up is being a pain, ive got 2 problems, i dont know the dns for fastnfree, and when ever i try to dial with modem, i get the "were sorry but the call cannot be completed at this time" message
anyone here wana help me? |

Never used it but too bad there isn't a service like that here in Wisconsin.
Bleh me being the sucker and paying $4.95 a month on all2easy.
Although I would argue I wish there was a reasonable high speed service here in oshkosh, nobody offers cheap dsl (or any dsl) on this side of town.

well, since the last post, i had no internet, hoping i could get a connection with free dial up, and wifi since the dsl got cannceled. now im using free internet that came with my motel. the dial-up is dead and my usb wifi adapter is not fully funtional. mabey i could try a pci wifi adapter. |

Wifi can suck as bad as dialup, for a long time I tried to do that, you need both, dialup = reliably slow
WiFI = very frustrating, occasionally fast but usually not so much, I found people walking around could disrupt my signal even when I was near the source. I do have some PCI wifi jobbers laying around, I often wondered if there would be a way of adapting them to work with the rooftop antenna, maybe get the wifi here from the subway down the road.
All2easy is $4.95 a month, cheapest I could get for dialup. Not free but if its in your area worth a look even if for backup.

well the cisco card i got now is 30mw, im pulling 200-900kbs, enough to play most games online, only problem is if a bird flys by, i get droped |
