just "slap in"
install carefully
drivers? don't worry there may be something in the archives
but the charateristics of the 3 uart chips make them interchangable
the 16550 is the most advanced
as sid there may be some kind of "tweak" patch out there ( lurking in the dinm recesses of my memory)
but I don't think so./
the V20 ( over the 8088 DOES have an enhancement program.

Sweet, i've installed the chip about a couple days ago and it works, VERY nicely, my creative external modem chugs away at 56k no problems.. least it SAYS it's 56k..

My next conquest is going to be my microsoft mach 20, which i just found the drivers for, i haven't had internet for a couple days.

My Mach 20 is pretty sweet, i've got the ram board, an 80287 10mhz on it, it will run at 8mhz, AND the high density controller add-on, i've even got a bus mouse for it..

Next question, will a 16pin dip ram chip work in an 18pin socket?, i've seen this with bios chips and such, , the notch is facing the right direction, but a column of pins is left open, closest to the notch, will that work for ram chips aswell?
