I just obtained an IBM 5154 EGA monitor. Can it run with original graphic card which is used with 5151 monitor? I suppose it is a CGA card....

It is only a matter of finding out if the monitor is working I know that for proper colors I would need an EGA graphic card.

I did it with an ega card and cga momnitor
it improved the color a LOT.
But I do not know about the other way around.
best to find an ega card.
many are 8 bit cards
remeber with a pc/xt set the switched to NO momnitor
ot ega
the early pb will not take it
as it does not look for BIOS ECtensions.
if a hd works a ega or vbga will
am older bga card even a 16 but will work in a pc/xt as lomng as the extra fingers do not short.
