When did the power supply with the red switch on the side of the case go out of fashion (like on the old XT class machines)? |

Last ones I saw (standard issue) were on IBM AT's (286's). There may have been some early 386's as well, so I'd estimate around 1986-88. But I've seen several AT-class P-I machines which had an upgraded MoBo with those style P/S's... |

DTK had switches in the back corner right through the 386 era, at least every DTK 386 I owned. They had a larger PSU than a standard XT though which was frustrating since DTKs were as common as dirt a few years back.
I think DTK may have even had an offering into the early 486 era with that case design and I do remember that case design being sold as generic for many years after the XT was done.
