I archive everything I get my hands on and store the original floppies in a safe place.. even so many of the
"safely stored" floppies went bad.
even some of th4e archived files went bad.
i have copied about 200-250 cd
s to hard drive and will burn dvd's
hopefully this will last as long as I need to.

I have made no attempt to distribute these files and programs.
I think most any pc 8088 or up could read a cd but not a dvd.
I think even a slow cd drive would not work.
but I am still not sure of all the legalities of this and simply sith on the files.

Is that reply targeted at bear's other topic?
I think preserving old software is great and I wish being able to share that software with others would be easier and not be such a grey area.

Edit: oops, never leave a browser window open for hours. I didn't see bear's reply.
