LAST NOVEMBER TWO SATA DRIVES WERE UN FDISKED
THE PARTITION WAS DELETED.
IT EITHER WERE NOT FORMATTED.
IS THERE A RELIABLE PROGRAM TO RESTORE THESE PARTITIONS AND GET BACK MY DATA?

The most reliable way is a well tested and current back up. If you don't have that, any procedure you try will be dangerous.

Years ago, I did have a disk that crashed the partition table. All the data was still there, but I had to figure out how to restore the partition table. I don't remember what I used, but it was some form of Linux utility and a tutorial from the web. Do some looking around, and you may find a how-to/tutorial on the process. You'll likely not be doing this from DOS FDISK...

so,meone sent me as link to an easus util
available as a free or 55 dollar version.

it is inportant to noter thjat the two drives were not formatted
but the partition only was deleted.
so likely the data is still there.
I have backups of z ( e-book filees)
buit not the data.
I can function as I have some material
patches and copies of many frequently used programs.
but backups of data manuals and other data I consider important may e lost.
also several inventory files.

I wil get someone who can see to read the easus site to see what restrictions are in the free edition.

500g is a lot to back up and saver.

really I should have backed up the tech data and not the books. I only had one external frive.
first order of mine if sucefful, will be to use all available dvd's to make copies.

again note--- the drives were never reformatted-----

Have a look at this:
http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk

I just read the first page, I haven't used the software.

The software appears to be way better than what I had to do when I had a multiboot system lose its partition table. I was fortunate to have a print out of the partition table info, so I could restore it by matching numbers. (This was many many years ago.)

I talked on the telephome with PHILO. he was on the old uncreative forum
and is now in the craig's list whree some of us meet.
he highly reccomends test disk for "un-fdisking" hard drives
and says uise onluy the exe file
I am still puzzled as therte are files and sub-dir's in the zip file
he alsosuggests it is on the hiren's cd.
I will tryit
but cannot figue out how a dos program as he suggests, will acces a large ide or sata drive/.

I have two drives that were UN fdisked.
the 600gb had d/l books for the blind.
basically many zip files
the attemt was finally made yesterday
and resuklts were horrible.
several fat12 smaller partitions were created or saved
having nothing to do with the orginal files./
no huge loss as most of the audio book wiles were backed up.
theother drive contains a lot of useful data and originl program files and saved text.
this isa 320gb drive.

I am limping along with what I have to use. but I miss the 320 gb drive.
