Hello,

I want to sell my laptop on ebay this week because I want a new one with a longer battery life. around 700mhz and pcmcia for wifi is all I need. a cd burner or dvd would be nice but is not required. cd would do just fine. I couldn't care less about the gpu and sound in there. it should have 10/100 mbit lan and a modem. all I care about is a LOOOONG battery life. maybe an intel with that speedstep stuff. Do you know any of those laptops that you can get cheap on ebay? maybe even a dell?

I'm tired of my gericom/uniwill laptop with a 1.3ghz desktop celeron cpu that sucks all the battrery power in 15 minutes ( and i'm not kidding... ). i don't need 1.3 ghz, that's what I have a desktop machine for....

If you've got time to wait, watch closely for Dell's $750 off sales. They'll be noted on Ars Technica.

If not, just about any system should give you about 2.5 hours of battery, as long as the battery is good. My Pavilion ze4400 series does, as did my Acer TravelMate.

well I don;t really have time to wait. I'll be leaving the US around july 12th and I don;t want to have to import an us laptop once i'm back in germany. I want one with the us keyboard, not the german one.
also, I don;t have $750. I'm looking at aroudn $200. as I said it doesn;t need to have that much performance...
My 1.2 ghz will hopefully sell above $100. if they're in good shape they go for $500 in germany. since mine has a german keyboard and a german windows ( which of course can be chnaged... ) but I'm selling it in the us, it'll probably go for less. also, becaue the battery is kinda dead and the hdd's performance is not thrilling either...
but I'll try. I'm right now backing up all my data to format the drive and install the windows xp from teh original recovery cd...
