today, i attempted to install an office suite on the other system.
after several " gyrations" and rebooting the system, it SAID
highmem.sys was not found., I keep a copy of xtree so i can move fil4es when there is no gui. checked for himem,sys and saw it was present everywhere it should be. but still I could not get into windows.
finally, i am re-installing windows over windows
\not a wonderful thing to do, but necessary when something like this happenes.
i wish there was a way to "refesh" important files.
I have a ghost image on my wife's system, but she has lots and lots of disk space. |

You do have the line:
device=himem.sys
in your config.sys, right? |
