I have old AT supplies and they seem reliable enough to me (even with machines full of cards and drives). I guess you just need a good supple to start with 200W to 250W.

I have one of my 486 machines in an ATX case I modified and it did not have a backplate, my cats would run around behind it and hit the keyboard connector (I use AT to PS2 adapters because of the KVM) and eventualy the keyboard socket needed replaced. A Seller on ebay had AT backplates for ATX cases and I purchased one of them, works out well now.

The next 486 machine I put together had a NIB AT Inwin case (slide out motherboard tray, heavy duty steel) found on ebay ($30 shipped). If I ever find a good local AT case the modified cheap ATX one is going in the trash.
