I want to sell off the following parts I've accumulated from servcing customers running software requiring IBM/XT'S but don't know what a
fair price to ask is. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone that knows what a fair price would be for the following items;
1. Xebec MFM hard drive controller card
2. floppy drive controller card
3. IBM MDPA b/w video card
4. AST II clock card
5. AST six pack plus clock card
6. Tanden Model TM252 hard drive
7. 250w SWITCHING POWER SUPPLY-brand new/never used
* I also have a complete 5160 computer with HD and floppy.

Thanks, BG

Depends on who you sell it to. Anyone that appreciates such (especially the AST cards maybe >$50 each) would pay a pretty good price, but it's almost impossible to pin down what you'd get on any vintage equipment.

pc users could care less
I tried to sell older pc's and nobody was interested
even for postage
a vintae computer forum would be
try closed / conmpleted auctions on ebay.
and add all the old buzz words if you do list,
otherwise carefull pack all in a box and wait 10 more years.

I wouldn't say all pc users could care less, but Walter would be correct that very few would be interested. Selling to someone trying to build a collection of older stuff would be your best shot at getting rid of any of it...

As a final thought---you'd do best on an online-auction (e-bay) if you do follow these:

Show it clearly (no blurry photos)
Show it often (lots of photos)
Show it working (screen-shots if possible)
Show it clean (get out the elbow-grease and use it on what you can)

but most importantly---show it (no one will care if they can't see the stuff).

In a similar vein, I wonder how much old Windows 1.0 manuals are worth? I still have a couple kicking around. Smile
