I have functional XT laptop called ACCURA 101M. The design is similar to Toshiba T1000. It has 8086 CPU, 1Meg of RAM, 2 HD floppies and probably ISA slot outside. What I am looking for is a EMS driver for it. My little knowledge about EMS memory is that to access it I need to have a driver. I would like to use those 384 kB as a ramdisk. Googling did not give useful results (just this EMM386). I think the driver will be chipset dependant (I have no idea what chipset is in it).

So what I am looking for: any EMS driver for any RAM expansion board for any PC or XT class computer. I want to try if it works. Better something than nothing. Anybody here have some drivers?

Or am I wrong and driver is not needed? (I tried to force RAMDRIVE.SYS to use ems memory but it complaints about missing EMS driver)

Yes, you definetly need the EMS driver loaded first. I am not sure if there is a generic LIM 4.0 driver or not, but I suspect you probably need the driver that is specific to your hardware.

I have a late model V30 motherboard with 1mb of RAM installed. I think I might have the driver for it. If I find it I'll let you know and you can try.
