Is the XT diagnostics disk image in the download section corrupt?
Winimage won't make any disk from it (corrupt image) |

The XT diagnostics disk image on this site is probably not corrupt at all. Although it has a ".dsk" extension, it is not a Winimage file. You have to remember that the 5160 was introduced in March of 1983, long before the first version of Winimage. Unfortunately, it uses the same extension (.dsk) as Winimage does, but Winimage can't open it as it was never a Winimage file in the first place.
Winimage just chokes on it.
Believe it or not, the XT diagnostics disk requires use of a second program, called either "loaddskf.exe" or "loaddisk.exe", (can't remember what it's called exactly) to extract the special "image" and write it to a 360K floppy disk.
Since Jim has kindly provided the Winimage version, it's probably just easier to use that one, rather than search for the special IBM program to extract the IBM image file. |

I would like to see dxp or something they does not require some extra program to unzip. that way only the file is needed.
I have exploring the imb pc both cga and mono versions. |

The .dsk image file can be read with disk copy fast if anyone is having problems with it still. |
